Student life

Life at Plumpton College offers a truly unique student experience. Set in the heart of the South Downs National Park, our beautiful rural campus provides the perfect backdrop for studying, socialising, and developing new skills – all within easy reach of Brighton and London.

Our close-knit and inclusive community means students quickly feel at home, with plenty of opportunities to get involved, make friends, and enjoy a wide range of enrichment activities.

University degree students benefit from dedicated spaces, tailored support services, and a strong focus on wellbeing and personal development. Whether you're living on-site in our student halls or commuting, you’ll find a welcoming and supportive environment designed to help you thrive. Our recently opened AgriFood Centre offers a relaxed meeting place in its Graze Cafe.

Plumpton is more than a college – it's a community. You’ll study alongside passionate individuals who share your interests, with access to exceptional facilities, real-world learning environments, and the chance to be part of a growing network of graduates making an impact across the environmental sector.

What's it like to live in South East?
Check out our region guide

South East England is made up of nine counties, with popular student cities in Brighton & Hove, Oxford, Portsmouth, Reading, and Southampton.

The area sees plenty of sunshine and Brighton – the LGBTQ+ capital of the UK – is a student favourite, with tons of quirky shops, cafes, arts, nightlife and watersports.

Moving east into Kent, you'll find the charming towns of Whitstable, Broadstairs, and Margate – all bursting with literary history – plus the iconic landmarks of Dover’s white cliffs and Canterbury Cathedral.

London is an hour or two away for gigs, theatre trips and capital city adventures, while the country’s two largest airports – Heathrow and Gatwick – mean international journeys are easy to get started.
