Student support
Going to university is a big step and, for many students, it may be the first time living away from home. At Bedfordshire, we offer a supportive, caring environment where it’s easy to ask for and receive support, whatever your needs.
Our Student Information Desks (SiD) are located on every campus and serve as the first port of call for all student services. Whatever the question, the SiD team can listen, advise and direct students to the best resource or contact for their needs. Students can also connect to SiD online 24/7 to log and manage enquiries and search through a database of FAQs.
As a member of the University Mental Health Charter programme, we are committed to supporting you if you experience mental health difficulties through one-to-one support, guidance and access to professional, confidential counselling.
The Disability Support team works with students with a range of disabilities, providing support during the application process and throughout their time at university. This includes assisting with accessibility arrangements, study needs and accommodation.
The Student Money Advice team supplies support and information on all sorts of financial issues, from money management and budgeting to accessing additional funding, grants and loans. They also run drop-in sessions and budgeting workshops at both the Luton and Bedford campuses.
Each student is assigned a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) alongside course- and unit-specific tutors, ensuring personalised study guidance and support throughout their academic journey. Our libraries offer an Academic Achievement Support service, providing access to a wide range of resources to develop academic skills.
