If you’re interested in enterprise, we have everything you need to start your own business. Our startup accelerator, Future Worlds, which helps students develop and launch startups as well as a range of entrepreneurial societies, generous funding opportunities and skills-development workshops. Our Social Impact Lab also provides experience to those looking to create real world change through social enterprise.  

Student life 

We are committed to ensuring your university experience is fulfilling both academically and socially. Our Students’ Union is home to over 350 student led societies and clubs, from gaming clubs to sports teams and social enterprise to quidditch. We also have a range of cultural societies that can help you connect with others with the same interest when you’re away from home. As well as learning new skills our societies are a great way to make new friends and settle into university life.   

We are investing £50m into our sports facilities and have one of the biggest Athletic Unions in the country. Whether you’re an athlete or just having fun, you can learn to sail and windsurf at our watersports centre or try out our new bouldering wall and new performance gym on Highfield Campus.

Just a short bus or train ride from Southampton, the historic city of Winchester is home to our art and design students. With live music venues, two theatres, an independent cinema, and galleries hosting year round festivals and events, its arts and culture scene rivals any in the UK. Surrounded by nature reserves and scenic riverside walks, this cathedral city also offers easy train access to London in under an hour. 

Support for international students 

We provide support to international students to help adapt to academic life and thrive in the UK. Students can receive course related guidance from their Personal Academic Tutor, while the Academic Skills Service is available to improve study techniques such as academic writing and research skills. The Academic Centre for International Students provides English language support, including pre-sessional courses. We also offer assistance on all topics all day every day through The Student Hub, from visa and immigration support to budgeting, ensuring you have support every step of the way.
